Because part of the focus of our project has been to digitize structures for presentation on the web, we decided to also investigate the 3D scanning of artifacts.
After watching this video, we realized we may be able to scan artifacts for very low cost. Presently we are perfecting the process, but it does work. We plan to scan a wide range of artifacts, including date stones, Native American implements and projectile points, and 18th century tools.
